Originally built as the Memphis Bank and Trust Building, 44 North Second Street was completed in 1962 and designed by Memphis architects Hanker and Heyer. The twelve-story Modernist tower was built for downtown commerce and professional offices.
More than six decades later, it is still doing what it was built to do. The building has evolved without erasing its character, retaining original details and the unmistakable authenticity of a place that has kept working.
